Growth and Remodelling Package in FEniCSx

The heart is a dynamic organ that changes its size and shape to regulate its behaviour to the demands of the body, which can change, for example, through body growth, exercise, or the onset of disease. Different models have been proposed to capture various types of cardiac growth resulting from mechanical stimuli, but the models have rarely been compared systematically. In this manuscript, we present a framework implemented in FEniCSx that allows one to quickly run simulations of growth and remodelling with different material models and different growth laws. We present and compare the growth predicted by each model for a set of simple experiments and compare the results to the literature.
